Board of Education Meeting - Reorganization Meeting

The Moon Area Board of Education held its 2015 reorganization meeting on December 7 in the High School auditorium, beginning at 7:00 p.m. under the chairmanship of the chairman. The board elected a member as temporary president, then administered the Oath of Office to 5 newly elected members. Once reassembled under the temporary president's chairmanship, the board elected the chairman as president, the temporary president as vice president, and a member as secretary, all by roll call vote.

The board approved Dodaro, Matta & Cambest, P.C. to serve as the district's solicitor, effective immediately. A member asked whether an interview process had occurred; the president explained the board was familiar with the firm, which had previously done Moon work, and that the board had run an RFP process when the prior solicitor—now resigned—was hired.
