Board of Education Meeting - Reorganization Meeting

The Moon Area Board of Education held its 2019 reorganization meeting on December 2 at the High School Board Meeting Room, called to order by the outgoing president. Directors present were the outgoing president, Hauser, Blair, and Dugan, with a solicitor at the board table.

The board first elected the director temporary president on a nomination by Hauser, seconded by the outgoing president. A district justice administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected members: James Bogatay, Robert Harper, Mark Scappe, Danielle Zieger and Jennifer Partica.

The board then filled its officer posts for one-year terms. Danielle Zieger was elected president on a motion by the outgoing president, seconded by Hauser. Robert Harper was elected vice president on a motion by James Bogatay, seconded by Dugan. James Bogatay was elected secretary on a motion by Dugan, seconded by Blair. Matthew Dugan was elected treasurer on a motion by Hauser, seconded by James Bogatay. Each officer election passed on a roll call vote with all directors voting in favor.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m. on a motion by Mark Scappe, seconded by Hauser. The clerk and the secretary both signed the minutes.

The board did not adopt any budget, approve any purchases, hire or dismiss any staff, launch any programs or receive any substantive reports at this meeting. The reorganization meeting was limited to electing officers and swearing in new members. The minutes list no financial actions, personnel appointments or policy decisions beyond the officer elections.
