Board of Education Meeting

The Moon Area Board of Education met on January 27, 2020, under the president, with 6 directors present and 2 directors absent. The board approved district bills for January 10–23, approved the Parkway West General Operating Budget and Jointure Budget for 2020-2021, and approved the High School Program of Studies for the same year. It approved a list of daily field trips and authorized the Girls Volleyball team to travel to Hershey on October 2–3, 2020, for an entry fee.

The board tabled a five-year purchasing agreement with Xenith for football helmets and equipment so administration could gather more information. It approved a five-year agreement with Xenith for football equipment, appointed an employee as the district's representative for the 2020 WPIAL Rifle Championship on February 13, and approved the Comprehensive and Professional Education Planning Committee, naming parents, community members, business representatives, teachers, an educational specialist, and administrators to the committee.

On personnel, the board approved a Family Medical Leave for an employee, a Medical Leave for a Grade 3 teacher, an employee teaching a sixth-grade class, spring coaches for track and field, wrestling, and softball, and fall sports head coaches for the 2020-2021 year including 8 coaches for various sports. The board adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
