The Moon Area Board of Education held its June 27, 2022 workshop meeting at 7:00 p.m., called to order by the president. Directors present were the president, Stuart, Barr, Callahan, Kammerer, and Wise; absent were Bogatay, Harper, and Scappe. Dr. Beltz, Mr. Daniels, and Mr. Scappe attended, with Mr. Vogel as solicitor. The board had met in executive session beforehand on personnel and legal matters.

The board approved a pay increase for an employee, raising his rate to a per diem amount. It accepted the retirement resignation of the Building Manager at Brooks Elementary School, effective August 17, 2022. The board approved leaves of absence for a Grade 4 teacher at McCormick Elementary, and a custodian at the Middle School. An employee was appointed Clerk to the Board for the 2022-2023 school year.

The board approved the employment agreement with an employee as HR, Benefits and Payroll Supervisor, effective July 1, 2022, terminating June 30, 2027. It approved two summer remediation facilitators, Nathania McCullough and Carlene Charochak, at an hourly rate. Two individuals were approved as ESY Special Education Paraeducators for summer 2022: Hailey Hamilton and Haley Radcliffe. An employee was approved as head coach for varsity girls basketball.

The board approved independent contractor positions for the 2022-2023 school year, including a school physician, dentist, optometrist, MAPS coordinator, and social worker, with rates ranging by exam and day. It authorized the superintendent to hire and fill positions including a maintenance tech, Brooks building manager, middle school guidance administrative assistant, varsity boys baseball head coach, and ESY paraprofessionals.

The board approved the monthly bills for the period June 10-24, 2022. It approved the revised Homestead/Farmstead Resolution No. 2022-3 and the 2022-2023 Student Assistance Program Letter of Agreement with Holy Family Institute. The meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
