Board of Education Meeting

The Moon Area School District Board of Education held a workshop meeting April 27, 2026, approving a series of financial, contractual, and personnel actions. The board approved bills for payment for April 11–24, 2026, split across the General Fund, Food Service Fund, and Activity Fund. It approved a three-year contract extension with Direct Energy Business, LLC for electricity supply beginning January 2027, and a 38-month agreement with Arete Advisors, LLC for cybersecurity services beginning May 1, 2026. Other agreements approved included a memorandum of understanding with the Moon Township Police Department, a Waterfront Learning Services renewal with the AIU for the 2026-2027 school year, an updated dual credit agreement with the University of Pittsburgh, and Pricing Exhibit A for a Kelly Services educational staffing agreement. The board also authorized a student debate trip to Washington, DC, and approved field trips and a conference.

The board approved nine leaves of absence, accepted the resignations of an employee, the gymnastics head coach, and an employee, and approved an internal movement correcting a custodian's position to the high school. It authorized the superintendent to fill administrative, professional, and support positions before the May 11, 2026 meeting, and approved summer help workers, extended-year custodians, a new STA bus driver, two student teachers, and a spring sports coaching change. The board also hired summer ESY paraeducators, speech language pathologists, and teachers across multiple schools.
