Environmental Advisory Committee Meeting

The Moon Township Environmental Advisory Council met on November 13, 2024, with four members and a Planning Specialist present. The council approved the minutes from its October 16 meeting. In new business, the Planning Specialist reviewed the EAC’s 2024 expenditures, including costs for Recycling Day flyer printing, tire recycling, and Earth Day events. She noted that the township’s proposed 2025 budget reduces Green Initiatives funding from $5,000 to $3,000, and encouraged the council to outline goals and objectives for 2025 to identify funding priorities for future budget cycles. Under old business, the council reviewed mockups and quotes from Pulse Designs and Vacker Signs for meadow signage at Robin Hill Park. After discussion, the council favored Pulse Designs and voted to recommend purchasing signage from that vendor for the Robin Hill meadow, with the possibility of adding a second sign for the Moon Park meadow if a discount can be negotiated. The additional sign would be funded with remaining 2024 Green Initiatives money. The council also discussed scheduling a Boggs School Road cleanup for March 2025, with a firm date to be set in the new year. General discussion included goal setting for 2025 and beyond. There was no public comment. The council announced that its December meeting is cancelled due to a conflict with the township holiday celebration; the next meeting will be in January 2025.
